1. There is no Child theme available with this theme but you can create one using one option present in the theme options of this theme.
2. There is no option there for achieving that. but once you start modifying the theme, let us know so that we can help you with the code adjustment there.

There is no Theme Options there for that. You can either edit the core files to remove the left sidebar or can use Custom CSS for hiding that.

You can upload logo of any dimension with this theme and it will show the original size (that you have uploaded) in the site which you want now
But as you can see in the demo, the Logo and the menu is in a single line, upon adding a larger Logo, the height of that area will increase there.

As per the demo you can use an image of approximately 128x20px for better result.

Yes, Clock theme also follow this behavior. But you can overcome that by regenerating thumbnails using any Thumbnail Regenerate plugin like OTF Thumbnail Regenerate plugin.

We are not sure about the code with Joomla. There might be some other blocking CSS there which do not allow the changes.
Try adding !important to the code to see if that helps.
