kkbzpz
Hello, We have a question. I was trying to post in the theme forum, but couldn’t for some reason. We are running an old version of the Point theme on two sites. One of them is a pro, and the other is free. One Point version is 1.2.7, and the other version is 2.1.1 We love those themes, and our sites have several thousand files. Currently, we're running PHP version 7.4.33 but must upgrade to a higher version soon. Will Point themes break, or will they still work with a higher PHP version? If there are any compatibility issues, what steps can we take to resolve them? Thank you in advance, Kevin
Support Mili Posted 35 minutes ago Support Report Share Posted 35 minutes ago Hello Kevin, Thank you for contacting MyThemeShop today. We have tested the Point theme on PHP 8 and it does not break. However that does not gurantee that your setup won't break. What you should do is make a staging environment first and update to PHP 8 in the staging environment to test. Ensure you have no errors and then you can update to PHP 8. Also, make sure you do a full backup of your site first before doing that. If you encounter any issues and if you have a support subscription with us our support team should be able to help you troubleshoot the PHP errors for Point theme and fix them for you. Looking forward to helping you. Thank you. 🏁Rank #1 on Google With our WordPress SEO Plugin. ⚡Score a 💯on PageSpeed and Dominate Search Rankings. ✏ Editing theme files?
