hello127
Hi, If I change my current WordPress theme (that I've been running for the last 6 years), will it effective my SEO and Google page ranking? We currently rank first on the first page of Google so don't want to lose that. Kind regards, Tim
Support ToddMTS Posted April 15, 2020 Support Report Share Posted April 15, 2020 Hi Tim, Thanks for getting in touch with us. If you are making significant changes to your layout (shifting from 3 column to 2 column layout, removing sidebar entirely, etc.) - you should expect temporary changes in your rankings. The returns will return to normal or even improve depending on if the new setup is more user-friendly and SEO friendly than the old one or not. If you aren't making significant changes to the layout and merely changing the style - you shouldn't see any changes in your rankings at all. Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else. 🏁Rank #1 on Google With our WordPress SEO Plugin. ⚡Score a 💯on PageSpeed and Dominate Search Rankings. ✏ Editing theme files? Support Mili Posted April 15, 2020 Support Report Share Posted April 15, 2020 Hello, Unfortunately we are unable to predict how the SEO or ranking will be affected. We recommend that you consult with an SEO specialist before doing such drastic changes as changing themes.
