I contacted the MyThemeShop for a free theme suggestion. Honestly, my expectations for a reply were a bit low, as I planned to wait for the weekend to get a reply, if any.
I couldn't be more wrong than that. Got a reply in one day, listing the solution for my issue both in .php and in custom css (the latter I indicated on my thread as preferred option). It worked perfect, and now I am ready to go!
