Hi,

 

 

If I change my current WordPress theme (that I've been running for the last 6 years), will it effective my SEO and Google page ranking?

We currently rank first on the first page of Google so don't want to lose that.

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

If you are making significant changes to your layout (shifting from 3 column to 2 column layout, removing sidebar entirely, etc.) - you should expect temporary changes in your rankings. The returns will return to normal or even improve depending on if the new setup is more user-friendly and SEO friendly than the old one or not.

If you aren't making significant changes to the layout and merely changing the style - you shouldn't see any changes in your rankings at all.

We currently using the Divi theme and looking to change to corporate theme as long as the SEO isn't affected negatively.

Unfortunately we are unable to predict how the SEO or ranking will be affected. We recommend that you consult with an SEO specialist before doing such drastic changes as changing themes.
