Support Mili Posted February 24, 2019 Support Report Share Posted February 24, 2019 Hello, Thank you for contacting MyThemeShop today. We are not sure what you mean. What are you referring to be a bug? Is it the URL that says "categoria" in your product slug? The permalinks can be changed inside of WP > Settings > Permalinks If it is for your products you can see more information on that here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/permalinks/ Looking forward to helping you. Alberto_Navarro
Sorry maybe I didn't explain it correctly. Categoria is Category in spanish. Which means that Google is understanding that the category page is in fact a product and I don't know if that is because a bug or because I did something wrong in configs. Thanks. Support Pratik.d Posted February 25, 2019 Support Report Share Posted February 25, 2019 Hello, It's ok to have product categories in the Product Section in Google Search Console as basic Product markup is added in the Product Category pages which let Google understand that the page contains a big list of products that fit the category as seen in the page title. There is nothing wrong in that. Hope that helps. Please let us know if you need any further assistance. Alberto_Navarro
Well, if Rank Math is marking Product Categories as Products, then is a bug indeed. https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/product?hl=en-419 Quote This page explains how to mark up your product information so that Google can display rich results (previously known as rich snippets). There are two types of pages where you would typically use this markup: a product page that describes a single product a shopping aggregator page that lists a single product, along with information about different sellers offering that product Quote Guidelines Product rich results provide users with information about a specific product, such as its price, availability, and reviewer ratings. The following guidelines apply to product markup: Use markup for a specific product, not a category or list of products. For example, “shoes in our shop” is not a specific product. See also our structured data guidelines for multiple entities on the same page. Regards.
Support Pratik.d Posted February 25, 2019 Support Report Share Posted February 25, 2019 Hello, Sorry, if I wasn't clear before. Rank Math is not marking Product Categories as Product. Rank Math plugin adds the lists of Products in Product categories and shops page in the rich snippet, that's how it should be. You can confirm this by disabling the Rich Snippet which Rank Math adds and using the snippet data which by default Woocommerce adds on the category pages. You will see the same result. 5 hours ago, Alberto_Navarro said: Guidelines Product rich results provide users with information about a specific product, such as its price, availability, and reviewer ratings. See also our structured data guidelines for multiple entities on the same page. A category page listing several different products (or recipes, videos, or any other type). Each entity should be marked up using the relevant schema.org type, such as forschema.org/Product product category pages. However, if one item is marked, all items should be marked. Also, unless this is a carousel page, the marked items should not link out to separate details pages. Hope that helps. Alberto_Navarro
Thanks, I guess that the problem came from that particular module on the Product Categories right? It is a Divi module.
Support Pratik.d Posted February 25, 2019 Support Report Share Posted February 25, 2019 Hello, I am not sure which Divi module you are using. But I don't see it as a problem. Its ok for Google to show Product categories in Product section as there is no separate section for Product Categories. And like I mentioned in my previous reply, the schema data which Rank Math adds on Product Category is valid it shows the list of Products as suggested by the Google. Hope that helps. Alberto_Navarro
I think I get it now. Product Category pages are ok, is that module that is miss marked. Google doesn't detect Product Category pages as the error, Google detected the error inside, not because. I reported that to the developer. Thanks for the help.
