Hello,

I thought to give a try to Rank Math SEO today, and the start is looking not so good as I am unable to edit the snippet section of any of my existing or new posts.

I navigate to "Edit Post" and under "Rank Math Seo" plugin area

Anywhere I click, I get this screen popup

rankmath.png

I assumed it was may be bacuse of Wordpress 5.0 so I updated just for the sake of this error and it is still there.

Hello,

Glad you got this working. I've forwarded this thread to our development team, they will further debug this, and most probably we'll change the custom class name to rm-custom so it would not conflict with any other plugins.

 Any problem if I leave that part of code commented in my theme?

That code adds color picker on a custom class. I don't see any use of that code in post/pages, so commenting it should not create any problem.

Hope that helps. If there is anything else, please let us know.

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting MyThemeShop and we apologize for any issues that you are having with our products.

To help you faster, we would like you to perform a quick conflict check on your website using the instructions below. You can follow these instructions on your live website as well, as running this conflict check does not affect your website visitors.

Here are the steps for you to follow.

  1. Log into your WordPress Administrator, and navigate to the dashboard
  2. Navigate to 'Plugins', and go to 'add new'
    T9Ch6
  3. On the next page, enter 'Health Check' in the search bar and wait for the screen to refresh
    d0qdd
  4. The official Health Check plugin by WordPress.org should be visible as the first result. Please install and activate the plugin
    OP6bX
  5. You will reach the plugin page automatically, and a notice will appear. Click 'I understand' to continue
    kmNot
  6. On the WordPress Menu on the left, hover over the dashboard. You will notice a new 'Health Check' option, click on it
    j3RNi
  7. On the page that appears, there will be several tabs. Please navigate to the 'Troubleshooting' tab
    To02q
  8. Press the 'Enable Troubleshooting Mode' to start the troubleshooter
    zDFyO

Once you complete these steps, you are in troubleshooting mode. All the plugins on your website have been disabled only for you. Your theme has also been disabled, but only for you.

To diagnose the root-cause of your problem, you would enable each plugin one by one until an issue is found. The last plugin that causes the issue will probably the cause of the conflict. Here are the steps in more detail.

  1. With all plugins and the theme disabled, try reproducing the issue.
    1. If you still have the issue, your WordPress setup is the root of the problem.
    2. If not, then continue.
  2. On the top bar, navigate to the 'Troubleshooting Mode', hover over it, and enable the MyThemeShop plugin in question. After that, try to reproduce the issue. u7oyK
    1. If you have the issue, the plugin is conflicting with WordPress
    2. If not, then the plugin is not causing issues with WordPress. Continue to the next step
  3. Navigate to the "Troubleshooting Mode" in the top bar again, and enable any other plugin. Then try reproducing the issue. qHIDj
    1. If you have the issue, then the plugin you just activated is conflicting with the MyThemeShop Plugin
    2. If not, then this plugin is not causing issues with the MyThemeShop plugin

Repeat step no 3 by enabling one plugin at a time and checking if the problem exists. When the problem happens, the plugin you last activated is causing the issue.

If the issue is still not resolved, then it might be an issue with the theme you are using. Here is how you confirm if your theme and the MyThemeShop plugin are conflicting with each other.

  1. Enter troubleshooting mode again using the instructions above.
  2. Using the Troubleshooting mode, activate your regular theme by selecting the 'Use your current theme option'. kY14f
  3. Activate the MTS plugin you want to check and try to reproduce the issue. u7oyK
    1. If the issue appears, your theme conflicts with the MTS plugin.
    2. If not, then the issue is with another plugin. You can continue enabling other plugins to pinpoint the plugin and contact their support for a resolution.

Once you complete the above steps, please let us know. Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

I tried this step and still even in troubleshooting mode I see the same problem

I don't think this health Check is helping me anywhere. The problem is clearly with Rank Math plugin. As with Yoast I don't see any such issue, once I de-activated the plugin all was fine.

Can I expect some support here?

Hello,

This seems like a conflict with some other plugin.

First we have to determine which plugin is conflicting with Rank Math, from the above screenshot, it looks like one of the plugins or theme is adding custom color picker (as default color picker present in the WordPress core, looks different), could you please check which plugin or theme is adding this color picker?

Once we find out the conflicting plugin/theme, it will be easy for us to reproduce the issue and release the fix.

Looking forward to helping you.

Thank you.

Hello,

I did some string search to locate the problem.

The popup comes is having attached function (attached image name is sp_1)

sp_1.PNG

Then I found the same string in two plugins

1. AMP for WP

2. MailPoet

So I deleted both of them just to check the problem of the conflict but that didn't helped

Next I found the same function in the theme's code

            "<div class='sp-container sp-hidden'>",
                "<div class='sp-palette-container'>",
                    "<div class='sp-palette sp-thumb sp-cf'></div>",
                    "<div class='sp-palette-button-container sp-cf'>",
                        "<button type='button' class='sp-palette-toggle'></button>",
                    "</div>",
                "</div>",
                "<div class='sp-picker-container'>",
                    "<div class='sp-top sp-cf'>",
                        "<div class='sp-fill'></div>",
                        "<div class='sp-top-inner'>",
                            "<div class='sp-color'>",
                                "<div class='sp-sat'>",
                                    "<div class='sp-val'>",
                                        "<div class='sp-dragger'></div>",
                                    "</div>",
                                "</div>",
                            "</div>",
                            "<div class='sp-clear sp-clear-display'>",
                            "</div>",
                            "<div class='sp-hue'>",
                                "<div class='sp-slider'></div>",
                                gradientFix,
                            "</div>",
                        "</div>",
                        "<div class='sp-alpha'><div class='sp-alpha-inner'><div class='sp-alpha-handle'></div></div></div>",
                    "</div>",
                    "<div class='sp-input-container sp-cf'>",
                        "<input class='sp-input' type='text' spellcheck='false'  />",
                    "</div>",
                    "<div class='sp-initial sp-thumb sp-cf'></div>",
                    "<div class='sp-button-container sp-cf'>",
                        "<a class='sp-cancel' href='#'></a>",
                        "<button type='button' class='sp-choose'></button>",
                    "</div>",
                "</div>",
            "</div>"

So looks like my theme is not compatible with Rank Math?

My theme's name is: Ultra Seven

https://wpoperation.com/themes/ultra-seven/

Is there any way this can be fixed?

Hello,

Thank you for the debugging and details, our developers will test the theme with Rank Math, we will see if it is possible to fix the issue. But I would also suggest contacting the theme developer as using the third party color pice is not a good idea as WordPress offers its powerful color picker.

We will update this tickets after testing.

Thank you.

I really doubt if the theme developer would show any interest to any such request because even if any such function stays there, it will not get called just by random clicking on other plugin.

But is there anyway I can disable that function in my theme page?

Below is the js file which contains that string.

Should I delete the plugin and roll back to Yoast till that time, as I assume this will take time to fix such issues. If any other detail required from my side then please let me know

Code saved here: https://pastebin.com/TmLtFpN6

Hello,

The below code in theme's /ultra-seven/inc/repeater-controller/repeater-script.js file is causing the problem:

$(".custom").spectrum({
  showAlpha: true,
  showInput: true,
  allowEmpty: true,
  preferredFormat: "rgb",
});

The color picker is intialized on custom class and since we are too using custom class in metabox the color picker gets initalized. Please comment that code or add it only on the pages you want to use color picker and prefix the class with some unique theme class, that will fix the issue.

Hope that helps. Thank you.

Hello,

I commented out that part of code

/**
*    $(".custom").spectrum({
*        showAlpha: true,
*        showInput: true,
*        allowEmpty: true,
*        preferredFormat: "rgb",
*    });
*/

and still the issue still exists.

Capture.PNG

when I try to edit the same screen pops up.

Just one more thing, that screen not only pops up when I click on "Edit Snippet" but even if I click at any empty place in the "Rain Math" plugin area under "Edit Post", the same screen pops up so not sure if only "Editing" is the problem and won't allow me to do anything.

Thank you for all the prompt response but please let me know if this can take some time? or it can be fixed from the plugin side at all as I am not expecting any fix from the theme developer?

As if not I would like to switch to a working plugin or else I am not sure if my SEO will get impacted. I am also not able to write any article as I won't be able to update the meta description and other SEO related values.

Hello Pratik,

Thanks for your support.

Looks like the way I was commenting was not correct, I commented those lines using // as your video and now it works.

Thank you all for such quick response. First time ever seen such prompt response for a free plugin with so many features. I hope my decision to migrate from Yoast will not be a bad idea. Looking forward to explore more from your plugin.

But can I expect a fix for this issue is future version of your plugin?

Any problem if I leave that part of code commented in my theme?
